Are you looking for affordable and homely accommodation? Would you still like the freedom of weekends away?
Homeshare Gloucestershire are delighted to offer a new opportunity to live in a comfortable home in Cheltenham! If you are interested in affordable accommodation in return for just five hours a week providing companionship and some practical support, then read below to find out more.
Homeshare Gloucestershire connects people looking for some company and practical support within the home (Householders) with those who would appreciate entering into homely accommodation at affordable rates (Sharers).
The Opportunity:
To share a home with a friendly, chatty and very independent 53 year-old lady, who suffers with cerebral palsy and would welcome the presence of another person in her flat. The Sharer would ideally be an open, friendly, vegan/vegetarian, easy going, flexible, fairly chatty, tidy person who would enjoy the occasional chat over a cuppa. A driver and car owner would be a bonus.
The Sharer would be expected to be in the property a minimum of three evenings per week as well as sleeping in the property every night. You’d have one day ‘off’ per week, as well as being able to go away every most weekends (if you wish). You can take up to five weeks of holiday/year (pro-rata).
The Flat:
A fully furnished, large single bedroom is available to the right Sharer. The flat is located on the 3rd floor of a house, within walking distance to Cheltenham Town Centre. The building benefits from a lift, a communal laundry area and communal gardens. There is shared access to the bathroom and a parking space can be made available to the Sharer.
The Homeshare Agreement:
You would pay a monthly facilitation fee to Homeshare Gloucestershire for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do not pay any rent to the Householder, but will be required to make a small monthly contribution to council tax (25%) and household bills – we estimate this may be around £100/month.
As part of this low cost living arrangement, you would give only five hours of your time each week in lieu of rent. On an average week, you’d spend the five hours offering practical help around the house and general companionship.
This is a position advertised on behalf of the Householder. We carry out reference checks and an enhanced DBS check prior to introducing you to the Householder.
