*About the room/property*
Your room is a gorgeous bright double bedroom with large wardrobe and storage space in a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment.
You have your own bathroom (not en-suite but separate/private bathroom to mine) with a bath and shower.
The flat is a beautiful top-floor modern apartment with a private terrace which is great for hosting, meditation and home workouts.
The kitchen/living room are open plan, with a dining area.
The flat is light, bright and interior designed and we have 180C views of London stretching across Waterloo, MI6 on the Thames, Vauxhall and Nine Elms, all the way to Crystal Palace.
* About the location*
The apartment is very close to a cluster of local shops, a Tesco, cash point, pharmacy, doctors’ surgery, off license, laundrette, library.
There are a good amount of amazing pubs and restaurants nearby.
Kennington Park, beehives and tennis courts are 5 mins walk away and it’s around 25 minutes’ walk to the Thames bankside (Embankment/South Bank/Tate) and Vauxhall parks. We can see Big Ben from the building, and the Imperial War Museum and The Tate are close by.
Kennington is great as it’s quiet and has a ‘villagey’ feel yet it’s so central. Once you find Kenny you don’t leave – this is the best hidden gem in London!
The nearest gym chain (Snap Fitness) is 10 mins walk away. In Elephant and Castle (10-15 mins walk) there are more upscale gym chains including Gymbox as well as a swimming pool and leisure centre. Nearby there are climbing centres, fight gyms and a Power league.
This room would be perfect for someone with a busy London life as it never takes more than 25 mins to get anywhere central.
It is 1 minute’s walk from Kennington Tube station (Zone 1) on the Northern Line.
From Kennington it is 1 stop to Waterloo, 3 stops to London Bridge and 4 stops to Leicester Square and to Bank.
Kennington is served by both branches of the Northern line northbound (same as Euston) through Central and the City, plus both branches southbound to Morden and into Nine Elms, Battersea.
* About me /My ideal flatmate *
I’m a creative professional. More of a book nerd than a Netflix gal. More matcha than vodka. More house/techno than Dua Lipa. During the week I work hard and work out. At the weekend I like to socialise, cook, read and explore London.
I’m a hardcore Ambivert. (Although the interiors are maximalist, the bedrooms and bathrooms are actually calm and serene..)
Around once a month I like to host friends, but ultimately this apartment is a sanctuary and I appreciate the peace and quiet.
I’m clean and tidy and am looking for someone similar. I don’t want a smoker or anyone 4’20″.
My dream flatmate would be creative, chill, interesting, respectful and does their own thing, but who I’m friends with.
I’m open minded about various people and lifestyles, and ultimately I’m just looking for someone I feel comfortable with and can have a laugh with! LGBTQ+ friendly.
I’m into: reading, writing, current affairs, cooking, music (house/techno/disco/hiphop etc), nature, fitness, yoga, photography, galleries/museums, travelling, collage, documentaries, comedy, people, solitude.
Thanks for reading and happy Flatmating!
*Finer details*
The rent is £1600pcm per calendar month.
This includes all bills, WiFi and a fortnightly cleaning service.
The deposit is £1000 also due before the first rent.
Available in September but flexible either side.
Minimum 1 year contract with option to extend beyond that.
Available to view at any time from now.
I’ve written a flatmate questionnaire to help find the right match. Living habits can usually only be discerned once living together so I think this is a good way to find the most compatible flatmate 😊 (Yes, I am a secret nerd!)
It is really important to find someone who I get on with, who makes the flat feel like home but who also has their own life and occasional weekends away.
If you’re interested then please write me a message including your number and email address.
Cheers
