DESCRIPTION
This listing is for a private cabin on a houseboat (Dutch barge, built 2006) on a fixed mooring in a marina (Limehouse). It includes a private bathroom (not ensuite) with WC, rolltop bath (shower above) and basin. The living space and a well-equipped kitchen are shared – only with the owner – and I am away for almost exactly 50% of the time.
The cabin has a built-in bed (somewhere between single and double size). There’s space to work in the saloon and I can provide a cabin desk if required too. There’s a washing machine, no TV but very good WiFi. There is central heating as well as a couple of good electric heaters, and a solid fuel stove too.
I’m a designer/academic (I teach architecture) with a home in Italy where I spend 50% of my time.
The transport zone is 2 and Limehouse DLR station is 6 mins walk. Canary Wharf and access to the Elizabeth Line is 10 minutes by bike. River buses are 10 minutes walk.
Supermarkets/restaurants are a short walk away and there is an historic Thames-side pub even closer.
There is a good and welcoming community in the marina.
