Room for rent in
Bingham
NG13 8DN
Looking for a single parent or older person who has or will have the opportunity to invest in a share of my property. I was a single parent with a 7 year old after my divorce 10 years ago and couldn’t afford a property in the right area as my divorce settlement was not enough and I was unable to get a mortgage due to my contract employment status. I rented and was made homeless twice before I moved here.
I am looking to help someone in a similar situation, who has cash to purchase a part share in my home. I have taken legal advice and this can be done, but it has to be cash. The sharer will be a joint legal owner of the property and a legal agreement will be created to protect both parties, just as if friends were buying together.
I have had lodgers for many years, 2 currently, usually young people making their way in life.
My house has 4 bedrooms, so I am looking for someone who wants exclusive access to 2 bedrooms, one double and one single. May be the possibility of 3 rooms once my younger son leaves to join the forces.
Bingham is a lovely area, particularly for families with children. Local schools, amenities and transport links are excellent and it is quiet and safe. I have lived here for 8 years and it is honestly the best place I have ever lived.
I work full time from home mostly, though I travel occasionally, usually London. I work in IT.
I have 2 cats and 2 horses which take up a lot of my time when I’m not working, but I would be more than happy to help with supervising children when I’m at home. I love children and I’m very caring and tolerant and easygoing. The main priority is a calm and peaceful place to call home.
I have plans to upgrade parts of the house, which I can only do if I am mortgage-free. This means the place is quite basic, but this has the advantage of being more child friendly (spills and breakages aren’t a problem as this is not a show home by any standards) and the sharer can help decide on the upgrades. (My bathroom was new 18 months ago).
I understand this is an unusual situation, and any potential sharer and myself would both need to be happy with the arrangement and confident it will be sustainable for at least 5 years. The share can be sold in the future as things change, with the benefit of an increased return as the value of the property increases.
The first room will become available in February 2022 but there would be a lot to discuss!
