Fully furnished double bedroom with ensuite bathroom available in 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with balcony facing the courtyard on the 5th floor of Centenary Plaza (B11TB). The apartment is a good size with a washer, dishwasher, full-size refrigerator and hi-speed wifi. The common areas have hardwood floors, and there’s new carpeting in the bedrooms. The apartment has many large windows.
The available room is furnished with two night tables and a dresser (Ikea Malm), a bookshelf, and a double bed. Note that the desk pictured in the room is not included, but there is a simple desk in the living room that could be moved into the bedroom. There is a large mirrored wardrobe and an ensuite bathroom with a shower. The room is freshly painted and has a huge window looking onto the courtyard.
The building is clean, well-maintained, and safe, with a 24-hour concierge. The building has a small gym with (limited) cardio equipment, free weights and machines. The location is brilliant–only a 5-minute walk to New St. Station, The Mailbox, Library of Birmingham, Brindley Place, etc.
You’d be sharing with me, a queer, cis-female in my later-40s from Canada. I moved here to work as a university lecturer in Popular Music; I’m also a professional DJ and musician. I don’t generally DJ or produce music at home, however (I use the studios at work), so this is a quiet household suitable for a graduate student or another type of academic. Currently, I work 1-2 days on campus and the rest of the week from home. During the summer I travel abroad often for weeks at a time for work.
Although I’m generally friendly and outgoing, I’m pretty busy with work and other projects so I tend to be in my room working when at home. However, I always enjoy company when going dancing and for long bike rides!
