We are a couple in our 50s. We have rebuilt the house almost completely over the last 3 years spending time making sure it was fit for the future including much insulation. We have reduced the number of bedrooms to make them a sensible size and added ensuites.
Please note: The renovation is not fully complete and this is reflected in the current rental price. The temporary Kitchen is fully functional with everything you would expect to find. The Communal living space has not been fully completed but is currently being used! The patio and garden are functional if not quite at their end state. our small flock of chickens certainly enjoy their large covered run at the top of the garden.
Both bedrooms have 8 double sockets. Although we havent shown them in the photos we will provide lamps, a chair, desk/table, and draws. A change to the wall colours can be negociated. ( We used what we had to hand that wasn’t too offensive 🙂
When completed the open plan kitchen diner living area has patio doors acceding the garden. There is a seperate sitting room that can be used provided the family don’t have guests staying.
It isimportant for anyone toknow that we currently share the house with two cats who mostly allow us to come and go as we please.
The train station is 7 minuites walk taking you to Manchester Picadilly. There are regular buses to Buxton and the surrounding Villages almost outside the door and a regular bus route connecting to Tameside and the Metrolink.
Glossop and the surrounding High Peak area has a wide and varied arts scene both as a participant or consumer. There are many resteraunts both in the town and surrouding areas to suit all tates and budgets.Glossop also has a strong sense of community with many and varied social groups.
The walking, and hiking, fell running communities are very well represented here as are the performing arts, sports and craft and artizan. The local faith community is also strong. There is a bus; yes a bus over the snake pass to sheffield.
Glossop is genuinley a lovely place to live.
We are looking to share our home with people who are looking to stay with us on a long term basis who are happy to share time and space with us but equally happy to spend time in their own space as we do on occasion. (We have a private living room for this purpose) the house has 3 down stairs living spaces.
We are both people of faith, and Michelle attands the local church regulally Andy infrequently as he has a deep suspision of organised religion, however we fully respect others beliefs.
