Comfortable bright double room (single bed, desk and storage) and own adjacent bath/shower room. It’s the top floor, overlooking the back garden, so quiet and private. It’s a Victorian terraced house, in a peaceful garden square with trees.
I am Sarah and my partner John is here a lot of the time but also spends time away, painting in his studio in Norfolk. We are a retired (active) couple looking for a reliable, quiet and tidy person who would like a friendly, relaxing and safe place to stay.
You would have the use of the kitchen and garden, and other parts of the house by agreement. We like to share a meal together from time to time and the guest room may be used sometimes by your visitors. There is attic space and a place for a bicycle inside the front fence. Street parking but you’d have to buy a permit. Oh and we have a gentle friendly dog (who stays downstairs). Most of our previous lodgers have stayed 4-5 years.
We have friendly cosmopolitan neighbours living around the square and an enterprising supportive Neighbourhood Association and googlegroup.
AND beautiful Brockwell Park is only ten minutes walk away, where you can walk and play tennis or basketball and swim at the Lido /gym or volunteer at the Community Greenhouses. Just down the Hill is the vibrant and buzzing Brixton Market and Ritzy Cinema and a great variety of places to eat and shop.
Excellent transport to central London. Four minutes walk to numerous buses north to Brixton station (only 4 stops from Victoria Station) or south to Streatham Hill station. Direct routes also to Waterloo, Euston and Kings Cross stations.
