We are 2 quiet, friendly, respectful and down to earth ladies living in an apartment we absolutely adore in a stunning, safe and leafy area with excellent transport links. West Acton (Central line) is 3 minutes’ walk away and North Ealing (Piccadilly line) is 5 mins walk away. This is a spacious flat with only 3 people in total.
We are working professionals aged 37 and 42. We chose to advertise on this site as we are ideally looking for a mature tenant rather than someone younger than us. We are currently working from home. One of us will eventually return to working form an office, but my job is 100% remote, Covid or not. For this reason I spend at least a few months per year working from abroad. This means the new person would get the benefit of living in a spacious apartment with only one other person for a good chunk of the year.
We are very down-to-Earth, reasonable, reliable, quiet and friendly types. I’d say a bit bookwormy, but certainly fun to have a chat with. We have shared our space with extraverts and introverts who like to live in their rooms at all times and both types have been very happy here. We are very respectful of boundaries and personal space and we appreciate the same in return. We are clean and tidy and we live by the rule “leave the communal areas the way you found them”. And you will always find them clean 🙂
We believe that house share dynamics works best if communication is open, so although we have quite established habits here, we are happy to accommodate the new arrival to the extent it makes everyone comfortable. I have lived in the property for over 10 years and I can proudly say that we have never failed to achieve a compromise that was a win-win for all parties involved.
The entire flat was redecorated last year and as we are very clean bunch it continues to look fresh and quite gorgeous. We have white walls throughout the flat, light grey carpets in the bedrooms (lighter than in photos) and a medium grey carpet in the hall. One of the photos is old, taken before refurbishment so the colours are different. I only added it to show you the interior of the wardrobe.
This is not a party house, but if you want the right combination of personal space and friendly socialising, you value and like to contribute to positive atmosphere and clean living space – GET IN TOUCH!
The room comes with a double bed, a 3-door wardrobe (to be upgraded to a newer and at least equally spacious model soon), a chest of 6 drawers, a table and a chair. All furniture is white and mostly new and there’s still space for the new person to bring their own furniture if desired.
The room adds up to £662 per month with most bills included (unlimited fiber broadband, water, council tax). Additionally, every three months we pay electricity and gas bills and those depend on usage. Summers are cheap and winters are more expensive. We don’t like to live in a cold flat but we try to be reasonable and keep the cost down is possible too.
The rent is payable by the 28th of each month. The deposit is £662. We rent the entire flat through an agency and they are absolutely wonderful. Exceptionally helpful and responsive. Just to put this in context, they not only agreed to redecorate the flat while we lived there, when our boiler broke they sent someone to fix it within 2 hours. we not have a new boiler so I cannot praise them enough. If you have had negative experiences with lettings agencies you have nothing to worry about with this one.
It’s a clean and modern 4-room apartment with three double bedrooms and one single one. We live in the 3 double bedrooms and use the single room as storage or guest room.
The sunny kitchen is fully equipped in lots of useful appliances (microwave, toaster, masticating juicer, water carbonator, nutribullet, etc.). It isn’t large but it is big enough for us to do our cooking together. That said, we are not very big cooks anyway 🙂 It was hard to photograph it as it is L-shaped.
The bathroom has a shower over the bath and the toilet is separate. The walls and ceiling were refurbished last year too and we will soon be getting new shower appliances as well.
This is a non-smoking flat but there’s a little patio area just outside the kitchen for smokers, so we don’t have a preference if the new person smokes or not.
The area is very safe, pretty, green with stunning Tudor style buildings (see photos) and Japanese cherry blossoms everywhere. There are a lot of Japanese expats in this area, so there are a few nice sushi places too. It is technically in Acton, but it’s just around the corner from Ealing Broadway and it certainly is much prettier and safer than Acton – and even Ealing itself.
Our landlord allows us to find a new person to live with ourselves, which means you would never have to worry about not knowing who you’ll live with if someone moves out in the future. Most houses for rent in London are very large 5-8 rooms, and they’re rented by the room by agencies so you never know who the agency rents rooms to. Here, you’ll live with only 2 other people and you will be able to get involved in finding the right person to live with if someone moves out.
Ealing Broadway with all its amenities, shops and transport links is only a 15 minutes’ walk away (or one tube station away for the lazy ones) but we do have well equipped shops 5 minutes’ walk away, as well as two Tube lines and buses.
