Hello and thank you for considering my happy and peaceful apartment home in Dorchester! About the apartment: I have a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment home that is two minutes from Franklin Park where you can golf or go for peaceful walks. I own clubs and am happy to join you on the rare occasion I am free. Fair warning, you will probably win. The common areas include a large kitchen with seating for up to 8 people at a time. There are granite counter tops, a new dishwasher, new over stove microwave, standard size refrigerator and a gas stove. The kitchen is equipped with pots, pans, dishware and silverware. Just bring your food and culinary skills. There is space if you have a few special pieces for the kitchen. There is also a living room with two large sofas covered in denim fabric, perfect for reading or watching Netflix. Speaking of Netflix, there is a large flat screen TV in the living room and Netflix is already set up, just pick your show and enjoy. Last, no guarantees, but I am actively searching for a maid to maintain the common areas.
As for the rooms. The front and back bedrooms are available for rent. They share a large hall bath with a tub/shower combo. There are hard wood floors throughout the house. Each room comes with a personal heating and air system. The front bedroom features a queen size bed, in building laundry, two small closets and a private sitting area with a couch that lets out into a double bed for additional sleeping. Not okay for a long term, but perfect if your grandchild is visiting for the weekend.
The back bedroom features a queen size bed, walk in closet, private deck, and indoor access to the laundry room. In theory, you could place a slim profile desk in this room because it has fantastic lighting for online meetings, but if you work from home and need to spread out, you will want to use the massive kitchen table. While there is no separate in room accommodation, in an emergency, you could accommodate a tween or teen grandkid on the pullout couch in the living room. There is on street parking and the fantastic news is you do NOT need a decal, just parallel parking skills. This house is drug free, weapon free, and it is NOT 420 friendly. I don’t drink because I prefer to eat my calories, however the freezer is perfect for chilling your beer mug. Due to allergies, this house is land and air animal free. Fish and turtles are welcome.
About me! I am a doctoral trained 44 year old African American woman with a professional background in healthcare and education. I work full time and will begin law school August 2023. My husband lives and works full time in West Africa, so I frequently travel to be with him. In short, I’m rarely home except to sleep and relax. So, if peace and quiet is your thing with occasional family gatherings, this is your place!
Last, let’s cover all the hot button stuff in the news today that you may or may not care about in a housemate. If I missed anything, feel free to jump to conclusions based on what I remembered to write. I have been a missionary for 26 years, and BELIEVE the scripture that says love your neighbor as yourself. I love ALL my neighbors – LGBTQIA, immigrant, migrant, male, female, non-binary, straight, plus size, neurodivergent, differently abled or disabled, White, Asian, Black, Latino, Agnostic, Jewish, Muslim, Hindi, Sikh, Buddhist, democrats, and you get the idea. I believe banning books is contrary to freedom of speech, and I believe abortion is healthcare. I am originally from the deep south, so I am a devout Methodist and I think hunting rifles are utilitarian. I also think most other weapons belong in war zones not homes. I don’t talk politics, because I’d rather go vote or volunteer to help someone. I pay my taxes, pray for law enforcement, and believe deeply in the value of the US Constitution for all people. In short, I could be considered liberal, but I’m no anarchist. I don’t speak in Bible verses, but if you ask, I will tell you what I believe. If any of this resonated with you, or you could care less about any of this, I welcome you to reach out!
