Looking for someone to help a retired couple look after our rambling Victorian villa on the western shores of Loch Long (and its rambling garden!) and also help out with a friendly but slightly mad young Border Collie. Offering your own double room and adjoining shower room at one end of the building, with the possibility of your own small sitting room (if you help us sort it out). Good wifi connection. Delightful and scenic location, 9 miles from Dunoon, where there are shops, leisure centre, etc. and also regular ferry service across the Clyde. Glasgow is 2 hours away by car, can be accessed by public transport via ferry to Gourock station. Bus service to Dunoon passes the door (infrequent but usually reliable). 5 mins walk up the road (pavement) takes you to our local village hall, an excellent cafe and gift shop and the pier (good for fishing). We have a magnificent view over Loch Long where you can see wild fowl, dolphins, porpoises, seals, and occasionally (if you’re lucky) sea otters and whales! The house is a lovely detached Victorian villa where there is plenty of space, but which comes with challenges typical for its age and location, and we are looking for someone willing to help us with routine maintenance (we have the expertise, but find crawling around in corners etc. somewhat challenging these days!) . We would also like someone willing to get to know our young dog, and look after her when we go away. She’s very friendly, but reactive to certain things and needs people around her who understand how to keep her calm, safe and happy.
