Rent a room in your home

There is an excellent gov.uk guide to renting a room in your house. The rent a room scheme explains the types of tenancy or licence you can offer, the rights of the resident landlord and the tenant (known as an excluded tenant) and also explains about the tax-free income of £7,500 per annum you are allowed to earn under the scheme. Worth a read if you are new to letting.
