My home is a 3-storey house, neutral modern decor, opposite a fantastically welcoming independent pub, moments walk from shops, and 5mins walk to Hove beach. Multiple bus routes on the doorstep, and a 5min walk to Hove mainline station with direct trains to London Victoria.
The lower ground floor feels both a bit ‘wow’ and at the same time, homely. The large open-plan lounge has huge flatscreen tv, large coffee table, and two comfortably large sofas. This is then open to the dining area with seating for 6-8 at the dining table. From here, double doors open onto the pretty and private walled patio, which is a sun trap in the summer months. The kitchen has all appliances, and not one but two ovens, perfect for entertaining.
On the upper ground / first floor is a bathroom with shower and toilet. Along the hall is my bedroom and then my work room where I teach and write. This floor has a front door too, mainly used for direct access to my office.
Up the second flight of stairs to the top floor, there is the double bedroom on offer, with lovely decor, large bay window, lots of light, a double bed and large wardrobe. There’s a separate bathroom and toilet up here, and another double room which has a bed in for occasional guests, but which is available to use predominately as your office / work from home space. The washer and separate dryer live up on the top floor too in communal hallway, but other than accessing those, you would have pretty much sole use of the top floor…! Then I’m on the middle floor, and all of downstairs is communal.
When my best friend of 30yrs and I found this place a couple of years back, we liked it because we could live sociably, as friends/family, but with plenty of personal space too. Now he’s moving on (but only into a place he’s bought down the road, we’re still family/friends!) and so I need to find someone new to share with me and my lovely springer spaniel.
