2 Bedroom Victorian House seeks 1 other
THE HOUSE
This house comes with one mature cat called Mogwai. It’s a 2 bedroom Victorian property with a sunny front room, cosy living room and a kitchen that has everything apart from a dishwasher – a little bit retro. It leads out into a beautifully kept garden which has been a real oasis during lockdown and is a total suntrap this time of the year. On the first floor are the bedrooms, each with an ornamental fireplace and a large, shared bathroom that sports both a shower and a large roll top bathtub.
THE ROOM
This double bedroom has a large sash window overlooking the garden and comes with a high ceiling and fireplace. The room includes a comfy double bed, a large white chest of 4 drawers, a handy bookshelf and a tall, white double door wardrobe. If you would prefer to fill this space with your own furniture, this is not a problem and I can have the furniture currently in this room removed. The benefit of moving into this property is that there is plenty of storage throughout and a whole house to accommodate furniture and belongings.
LOCATION
Excellent transport links with the nearest tube station being Colliers Wood on the Northern Line. About a 10 minute bus ride to Wimbledon Central and only a stone’s throw from there to the lovely upmarket Wimbledon Village! Balham and Clapham are a few stops away and for those traveling into central, you’d only be 25 mins away from Victoria and about 35 mins away from London Bridge. Close by are a number of take-aways, 2 different Co-op’s within a 5 minute walk and plenty of places to go out for dinner. The Charles Holden pub is a 5 mins walk away and does great Sunday lunches and quiz nights. There are a few gyms nearby and a couple of yoga places too. If you enjoy a bit of nature, then you’ll find the lovely river Wandle within a short 10 minute walk and Wimbledon Common a short bus ride away (both are great picnic spots)!
HOUSEMATE(s)
Technically you’ll have 2 housemates, myself and a shy cat called Mogwai, who tends to keep to herself and lounges most of the day on my bed.
My name’s Paula and my interests include theatre, live gigs, festivals, gardening and meditation. By day I’m a Talent and Leadership Development professional and I also run a part-time coaching business.
This house is a friendly, calm oasis from the busy day to day and though it’s never been a party house, it’s proven itself to be a great space to entertain friends with a BBQ or dinner. The neighbours to either side are easy going and friendly, always up for a chat – it’s not the first (or last) time a quiet glass of bubbles in the garden has ended up being a bottle shared over the fence. I am a sociable person and, prior to lockdown, often out and about. My ideal housemate will be someone relaxed, with a sense of humour and an honest, ‘no drama’ approach to life. And, when it makes sense, keen to set the world to rights over a glass of wine and chat in the garden on a sunny afternoon.
COST
As there are only 2 people on the property, we’d be sharing all the living costs. This would equate £920 (with all bills included).
I’ll be very happy to arrange a viewing, either virtually or in person.
