Room for rent in
London
E8 3AW
Short-let of large 1-bed apt in E8
I’m heading back to New Zealand and to do a bit of travel, so I’m making my larger-than-average (55 sq. metres/ 590 sq. feet) one- bedroom apartment in Haggerston available for 4-5 months. Exact dates can have a bit of flex, but the place will be available from 21 December. You should be aged 30+ and be prepared to commit for a minimum period as indicated above.
The location here is great, draw a triangle between Haggerston, Dalston and London Fields and I live in the middle. Close to so much, yet the street itself is a quiet side street with not much traffic.
The block was built in 2002 so is reasonably modern with decent insulation and double-glazed windows, as of today 16.11 I’ve not turned any heating on yet. Well sound-proofed so no neighbour noise. There is a shared-back garden with bike storage behind a lockable side gate. Only 8 apartments in the whole block and everyone is pretty friendly.
The flat has been recently re-painted so looks in good nick, plus all the appliances are relatively new, less than 18 months. Even some posh kitchen stuff like a nutri-bullet and a burr coffee grinder (no blades here!)
The amount of £1475 includes all bills except electricity, although Rishi is paying a £67-per-month subsidy through the winter (until 31 March) so obviously whoever lives here during that time will benefit from that. Broadband is fast cable.
The flat is fully furnished, so if you have any “big” stuff of your own (eg. bed) you will need to make your own arrangements to store that during the term as I haven’t factored in storage costs to the price I’m quoting. I’m not looking at this as a money-making exercise, just wanting to see that the mortgage and bills are covered in my absence – I think my mortgage is actually well-below market rents in this area. In return I’m hoping to find someone decent who will look after the place. Obviously some of my stuff will still be around so not looking for anyone who’s into pinching books or crockery!
Looking to have viewings initially Sunday 20.11 through to Tuesday 22.11, I’ll be working-from-home both those weekdays so will have reasonable flexibility as well as having some of my Sunday to be available too.
