The room is spacious, beautifully renovated and decorated. with three bay windows. It is fully furnished with a working fireplace, double bed with new mattress and built-in closets. It features an antique oak work desk, stained glass window, stained glass overhead light, and Himalayan salt crystal lamp.
The room is in an attractive garden flat . The flat is quite charming. filled with vintage furnishings from Canada and interesting collectors’ items from my extensive travels.
It has a clean fully equipped kitchen, a newly decorated bathroom with bathtub and shower and a Bosch Washer and Dryer in a lovely side conservatory.
Access through the Conservatory to the back garden, which is the big draw!
The garden ias a large back patio with lounge chair, teak picnic table and chairs, a water feature, wind chimes from the Rocky Mountains, and lots of potted plants. It extends to the back where there is a small shady pond with tinkling waterfall, and more wind chimes from the Grand Canyon and the Arctic Circle. Behind that is a quiet secluded meditation garden overlooked by a gold Buddha.
You will be sharing the flat with a friendly retired (??) Canadian landlady named Joyce and a calico cat named Bijou.
My passion is world travel. Some highlights include driving Route 66 across America; driving from Vancouver Island over the Rockies to Quebec in Canada; Mexico, Brazil, Sweden and the Artic Circle, Iceland, all over Europe. Turkey, Jordan, Syria, Egypt and Israel; (where I lived for two years in the ‘80s and wrote a book on The Environment in Israel . )In Africa, I made it to Morocco, Kenya, The Gambia and Senegal. In Asia, Thailand,, Myanmar, and India, the last trip being a glamorous driving adventure exploring the Maharaja Palaces in northern India – getting back 5 days before lockdown.
I am a bit of an eclectic intellectual. I would describe myself as a life-long learner. I have a BA and LlB from British Columbia Canada, an MA in Jewish Studies from Leo Baeck Rabbinic College in London, and a year’s study of Middle Eastern politics at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. I am always studying one course or other online. I am a study person, not a party person.
I amlooking to share with someone who is strictly a non-smoker, and appreciates healthy living.. Someone in full-time day emloyment or out of the house most days, because I work from home.
I would like to share the flat with a maature, thoughtful and intelligent person who celebrates life, and cares about the world. The flat would suit a person who appreciates a quiet, well-appointed, peaceful retreat/sanctuary at day’s end.
Excellent transport connections to Willesden Green Underground on the Jubilee Line, and plenty of buses.
