OVERVIEW
Double room available in a lovely, quiet house, to be let on a rolling monthly basis.
Note that the photo currently shows a single bed, but I’m expecting delivery of a double this week.
LOCATION
The house is on a new quiet, new-build estate in Sharston, just a 10 minute walk to the shops, bars, restaurants & take aways of Gatley village; less than a 10 minute drive to the social life in Didsbury or Chorlton if you wanted to meet up with people; and just 12 minutes on the train from Gatley to all the activities in Manchester City Centre. Wythenshawe Hospital and Manchester Airport are both about a 10 minute drive away if you’re working at either of those.
TRANSPORT LINKS
The house has excellent transport links, being a couple of minutes from the M56 (J2)/M60 (J1); a 10 minute walk to either Gatley train or the nearest tram stop which takes you directly to Manchester City Centre in one direction and Manchester Airport in the other; and the airport is about a 10 minute taxi ride away if you’re flying.
THE HOUSE
You will be sharing with only one other person, myself, and you are welcome to use the usual bedroom, bathroom, lounge and kitchen facilities; I have the 3rd bedroom set up as an office that you share in the evenings, but please note that I am looking for someone that does not work from home. There is lots of on street parking available.
I am a cat sitter, not on an office schedule, so whilst there is only one bathroom, it is right next to the bedroom, and there won’t be any competition for the shower for you during the usual 6-9am period!
I am vegetarian, so have put this as a preference, but I do have some meat in the house for my cats so happy to have a non-veggie stay. I would just ask that you keep any meat in the fridge sealed in packages or tupperware, and that you use separate pans which I can provide.
CATS
You will need to be comfy with cats as I have 4, and they have full roaming rights to the house with the exception of your room, as they are used to not being allowed in there!
ABOUT YOU
I like a calm, chilled home, so this would suit someone similar, that is happy to socialise outside of the house rather than bring friends/colleagues home please.
We will share the usual house chores and can go halves on a weekly or bi- cleaner if you fancy doing this.
The bills inc covers gas, electric, water, council tax, tv licence, broadband, and is based on a utilities fair usage policy. It does not include use of a landline phone.
REFERENCES
I will need a reference from your current employer, and the usual proof of ID and current address.

ADDITIONAL INFO – SHORT LET
I have the house up for sale, hence the short let/rolling monthly contract; but you will have at least a month’s notice as I will keep you updated as and when any offers come through and it usually takes 2 months minimum for a sale to complete. We’ll be doing block viewings one or two Saturdays a month so you’ll need a tidy room on those days please!
This is a good opportunity to live in a lovely, chilled out home, with the flexibility to try out house sharing without a long term commitment.
I have house shared/had lodgers for about 15 of my 30 years with a home, but it’s been about a decade so I’m keen to get someone of a similar age and chilled out disposition at this point in my life.
