Quiet spare room available for 3 or 4 nights midweek for a reliable, quiet and tidy person who has work (mostly out of the house) in London and would like a friendly, relaxing and safe place to stay overnight. Great location in Victorian terraced house in a peaceful garden square with trees. Excellent transport to central London.
I am a retired teacher and a well-travelled writer. My partner is here some of the time but also spends time away, painting in his countryside studio. A delightful and considerate lodger lives on the top floor with her own bathroom.
No traffic noise. The room is used from time to time at weekends by our visiting family and guests. Two single beds (you could sometimes have a friend to stay). A large cupboard for your sole use, a table/desk and a comfortable chair. You would share our bathroom with shower and have the use of the kitchen and garden.
Our neighbours living around the square are friendly and cosmopolitan. Oh and we have a gentle friendly dog (who stays downstairs).
AND beautiful huge Brockwell Park is only ten minutes walk away, where you can walk and play tennis and basketball and swim at the Lido /gym. Just down the Hill is the vibrant and buzzing Brixton Market and Ritzy Cinema and a great variety of places to eat and shop.
Public transport is excellent. Four minutes walk to numerous buses north to Brixton tube and overground train station (only 4 stops from Victoria Station) or south to Streatham Hill station. Direct routes also to Waterloo, Euston and Kings Cross mainline stations.
